Dr. George K Malgarinos is a procedural Gastroenterologist who provides a personalised and comprehensive gastrointestinal service covering all aspects of GI care. He performs: Diagnostic and therapeutic upper GI endoscopy: haemostasis with thermal and nonthermal methods, multiple band ligation and miniloop application in bleeding oesophageal varices, oesophageal dilatation using, balloon or Savary-Guilliard dilators, polypectomies, PEG placement, PEG/J placement, APC use Diagnostic and therapeutic lower GI endoscopy: haemostasis using thermal and non-thermal methods, polypectomies using various techniques (EMR, ESD) Capsule endoscopy, EUS, ERCP. Dr. Malgarinos is committed to providing his patients with holistic, state-of-the-art care according to their individual needs.
Between 2010-2016 Dr Malgarinos spent several years working in UK and Japan where he gained international experience in therapeutic endoscopy and generally, in the management of gastrointestinal disease. He has a Doctorate of Philosophy, has authored several book chapter, he participated from the onset to conclusion in international multicenters clinical trials and published research in both gut and liver disease. He has presented more than 50 papers at Greek and international medical conferences. Dr Malgarinos recognises the critical importance of communication and patient involvement in the decision making process – taking the time to explain complex treatments and procedures alongside their pros and cons.
