Breast reduction surgery typically takes 2 to 4 hours, depending on the extent of the procedure and the amount of tissue that needs to be removed.
- Wear the special compression bra for 6 weeks
- Avoid intense physical activity for 6 to 8 weeks
- Sleep on your back with your head and torso slightly elevated
- Follow the instructions for caring for the incisions
- Avoid sun exposure for at least 6 months
- You will stay in the hospital for 1 to 2 days
- You may experience pain and swelling during the first few days, which will gradually subside
- The dressings will be removed after 1 to 2 weeks
- You will be able to return to your daily activities after 2 to 3 weeks
- The final results will be visible after 3 to 6 months
You can begin light exercise after 4 weeks. Full return to your workout routine is allowed after 6 to 8 weeks, always with your doctor’s approval.
